After entering and confirming your data, you will receive an e-mail with your applicant number and the link to the upload portal. Please submit all displayed documents digitally. This is necessary to finalise your application and prepare for enrolment.

It is not necessary to send them by post. You must submit your officially certified copy or the original of your university entrance qualification after enrolment at the university.

Note: The password you use in the application process is also the password for the upload portal.

FAQ Application

1. Where can I get advice about the application and my degree programme?

The General Student Advisory Service will advise you on your application, admission and enrolment at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences. We can provide you with all the information you need about study options and the application process. We can also advise you on changing degree programme or university. You can find initial information on the recognition of examinations on the Examinations page. We are also happy to help if you wish to end your degree programme early.

2. I have not yet received my Abitur certificate or Bachelor's certificate. Can I still apply?

Even if you have not yet received your university entrance certificate, you can apply with your current grade point average and your most recent certificate. In this case, please enter the current date when you obtained your university entrance qualification. However, you can also wait until you have received your certificate. As soon as we receive your certificate, we will need it as an upload to check your details and as a basis for enrolment.

The same applies to your Bachelor's degree certificate if you are applying for a Master's programme. If you have not yet received this by the application deadline, you can apply with a current certificate or transcript of records and a certificate of currently achieved ECTS points, the provisional final grade and the expected graduation date.

3. How can I apply?

Please use the online application portal for your application if you have obtained your higher education entrance qualification or Bachelor's degree in Germany.

4. During which period can I apply?

You can apply from the beginning of May. The application deadline for degree programmes with restricted admission is 15 July, for degree programmes without restricted admission the deadline for the winter semester is 31 August.

The application period for the summer semester starts at the beginning of November. The deadline for degree programmes with restricted admission is 15 January. The deadline for degree programmes without admission restrictions is 28 February.

International applicants from non-EU countries can apply via uni-assist until 30 June for the winter semester and until 30 November for the summer semester.

5. What application documents do I need to submit with my application?

You can also find out which documents you need to submit for your degree programme under Requirements and deadlines. Then choose whether you would like to apply for a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme.

You must submit your officially certified certificate or the original of your university entrance qualification after enrolment at the university.

6. Where can I have documents notarised?

You can have your documents notarised at all public institutions that have an official seal, e.g.

  • State schools (only the school issuing the certificate)
  • Public authorities (e.g. residents' registration office)
  • parish offices
  • embassies
  • notaries
7. Can I apply for several degree programmes?

No, you cannot apply for more than one degree programme unless you apply for a degree programme with restricted admission in the main application and for an NC-free degree programme in the auxiliary application. In this way, you will always be offered a place on a degree programme if all admission requirements are met.

When applying for an admission-free degree programme, you are guaranteed a place if you meet all admission requirements and the complete enrolment documents have been received by the deadline. You will then be enrolled at the university.

8. Some degree programmes require a pre-study internship. By when do I have to have completed my pre-study internship?

The pre-study internship must be completed by the end of the 4th semester.

It is recommended that you complete it 4 weeks before the start of your degree programme if possible. You can start your studies and still use the semester break for internships. The content of the pre-study internship should be based on the main focus of the degree programme.

9. When will I be informed whether I have been offered a place at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences?

Notifications of admission and rejection for degree programmes with restricted admission are issued and sent out by email promptly after the NC procedure has been completed. When applying for a degree programme without admission restrictions, you will be forwarded directly to enrolment if you wish to accept the place offered and all documents have been received in full.

If your application documents are incomplete, we will contact you. Please make sure that your contact details are complete and correct!

10. I do not have a university entrance qualification. Can I still study?

We also offer you the opportunity to study at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences without a university entrance qualification. You can find information on the admission examination procedure for the Bachelor's degree programme and the requirements here.
