Exam registration and cancellation (withdrawal in case of illness)

As a rule, you must take examinations every semester in order to successfully complete the degree programme. All examinations must be registered for and taken for the first time no later than two semesters after the standard examination date; if examinations are not registered for or not taken, they are deemed not to have been taken and the first attempt is graded as 5.0 (failed).

In order to be able to effectively take examinations in the current semester, you must register for them within the specifiedregistration period in the study and examination portal (SuP). Your compulsory examinations in the third attempt (last examination attempt) are bindingly registered by the university (ex officio).

To access the online portal, please use the latest version of your browser. If you are still unable to access the portal, please note the following information . You will need your e-mail account details to access the SuP. You can save an overview of your registered examinations as an individual record.

If you are temporarily unable to access the study and examination portal (SuP) for technical reasons, you can also register or cancel your examinations in writing (by post or e-mail) at your study office as an exception and to meet the deadline.

Additional information:

  • Additional subjects (= freely chosen modules from other degree programmes/faculties) can only be registered via the SuP. If a module is not displayed, please contact your study office in good time, stating the degree programme and module code. Online enrolment will be set up. Please note that the deadline must be met; your online enrolment is decisive.
  • If you would like to use one of your four possible improvement attempts within your standard period of study, please register this informally, in good time and in writing by email or post via your relevant study office. (This also applies to the additional improvement attempts from the "Corona semesters").

Withdrawal from registered examinations / cancellation of examinations:
You can withdraw from registered examinations without any conditions up to one day before the start of the examination. In any case, please use the study and examination portal (SuP).

When withdrawing from examinations / repeat examinations, please note the deadlines for registering for and taking examinations!

Withdrawal in the event of illness:
If you are unable to take a registered examination due to illness, you must submit an original medical certificate (information sheet) to the Registrar's Office or Student Administration Office (Building 1, ground floor or by post) immediately, i.e. without undue delay. On the basis of the medical certificate, it will be examined whether the proven health impairment can justify the cancellation of the examination or withdrawal. The examination authority is responsible for determining the inability to take the examination and is not the responsibility of the doctor.

In the case of the 3rd and 4th examination attempt (last attempt) or in the final thesis phase, you must also submit an official medical certificate after your family doctor has diagnosed an illness. The examination authority must then decide on the inability to take the examination on the basis of the certificate submitted.

The illness of a child or other relative in need of care who must be cared for predominantly alone is treated in the same way, whereby an official medical certificate is not required if the child is ill.

Notes:
A sick note/certificate of incapacity for work from a doctor in private practice and the corresponding fee (currently 25.00 euros for Stralsund) must be submitted to the public health officer.
The Stralsund health authority or the health authority in the area of your main place of residence is responsible.

If, for reasons for which you are responsible, you wish to withdraw from an examination after the specified date for unconditional cancellation of the examination or if you wish to assert your failure to attend, you must notify us of this in writing and provide credible evidence. The principle of immediacy also applies here; it is generally not possible to withdraw from the examination after receiving the examination result.

The fees for the public health officer will not be reimbursed, as the candidate is obliged to provide a medical certificate from a public health officer.
